Reading tutstake.com is the whole of what the site asks of you. There is no account to open, nothing to buy, no age gate, and nowhere to post, so most of what a terms page usually governs does not arise here. What follows covers the parts that do: what you may do with the text, what it does not promise you, and who is responsible when a step goes wrong.
What you may do with the guides
Read them, print them, save them, and link to them. Quoting a few sentences with the page named and linked is fine.
Republishing a guide whole is not, on a site, in an app, in a video script, or inside a dataset assembled to answer questions on someone else’s page. The words and the screenshots belong to me unless a page says otherwise. Feeding the site to an automated collector runs into the same answer, and there is no API or bulk feed here to make it easier.
If you want to reuse more than a quote, write to hello@tutstake.com and ask. The answer is often yes.
The companies named here have no hand in what is written
Spotify, Instagram, X, Pinterest, Microsoft and every other name on this site belong to their owners. A guide about a setting has to name the app the setting lives in, and that is the only reason those names appear. None of those companies reviewed a word here, none pays for coverage, and none of them will act on your account because you read about it here.
One commercial relationship does exist, and it belongs on this page rather than only in the privacy policy: this site is a Google AdSense publisher, and Google fills the ad slots you see. Which ads arrive is Google’s decision, not mine. No advertiser sees a guide before it goes up, and none of them can change what a guide recommends.
What the guides do not promise
Every page here describes what an app did on the date printed in its verified_on field, checked against the source named beside it. That is a report on a moving target, not a warranty:
- Menus get renamed and settings get moved, sometimes weeks after a page was checked.
- Your build, your region and your account tier can all differ from the one the steps were written against.
- Following a step still means acting on your own device, and the outcome is yours.
So back up anything you would miss before you delete, reset, or hand a file to a converter. Where a step is risky I say so on the page, and where the maker documents no supported route I mark that too, but nothing here is a guarantee of a result. To the extent the law lets me limit it, I am not liable for loss, cost, or damage that follows from acting on a guide, and nothing on this page removes a right your own consumer law gives you.
The site itself is served as it is and may go down, change, or lose pages without notice.
Links and ads leaving the site
Outbound links and ad units point at places I do not run. I check a source link before it goes into a Sources block, and after that the other end can change under me. Ads I never see in advance, because Google matches them to the page and to the browser asking.
Either way, once you follow a link you are on someone else’s terms and someone else’s privacy policy. What the ads and the embedded ad code do with your data is set out in the privacy policy on this site.
If something here is yours
Write to hello@tutstake.com with the address of the page, the material you mean, and enough to show it is yours. Anything I cannot answer for stays down while I work it out.
This applies most to illustrations. Older pages carry images inherited from the 2017 version of this site, and the paper trail behind some of them is missing. Those are being replaced. If one of them is yours, the address above is the fastest route to having it gone.
Changes to these terms
They change when the site changes. There is no mailing list here, so no notice goes out by email: the date at the foot of this page tells you when the text last moved, and that date moves only when the wording does.
